About Jay Small

Jay Small is an experienced new media manager, journalist, publication designer and Internet site developer. His professional career began in 1985 as a copy editor, but Small started learning about publishing much earlier - growing up as the third generation in a family of small-town newspaper editors and managers. His resume includes leadership and consulting roles at Indianapolis Newspapers, Inc., Evantage Consulting LLC, Thomson Multimedia, and most recently, Belo Interactive. Small currently oversees Internet news teams at Belo sites in eight cities: Houston and Austin, Texas; New Orleans; St. Louis; Louisville, Ky.; Charlotte, N.C.; Norfolk, Va.; and Providence, R.I.

About Adrian Holovaty

Adrian Holovaty is a Web designer, programmer and online journalist living in Lawrence, Kan. In Holovaty's short journalism career, he has been an infographics designer, reporter, copy editor, online producer, webmaster and Web product developer. A Chicago native, Holovaty built a database-driven content-management system for his campus newspaper while at the University of Missouri. He went on to become an assistant database editor and product developer at the Atlanta Journal-Constitution's Web site, ajc.com, and now works as the lead developer at the Web site of the Lawrence Journal-World, ljworld.com. Holovaty evangelizes good design and technical issues through his Web blog Holovaty.com.
